Lucifer: Thousands of signatures
Hold up, Lucifer does not mean the devil in fact according to the holy books, it was a name given to the most beautiful angel known to creation.
Lucifer actually meant “morning star” or “day star”.
So before you stereotype this piece of knowledge like you do with most parts of you life…
Make enquires. Ask questions.
Curiousity in life will take you far but there are some questions that are better left alone at least that is what religious leaders often tell us.
“Just believe”
Religion makes no sense without beliefs or faith (that is the foundation of everything religion).
But for today’s letter let’s explore an important and maybe uncomfortable topic…
In May 2018, over 31,300 people signed a cancellation petition for a 'movie' to be cancelled.
They asked for this movie to be removed from Televisions and banned in America.
Why?
According to the tens of thousands of people who signed this petition,
Viweres of this movie were begining to see the devil as “a caring and likeable person in human flesh”.
I personally watched just 1 season of this series and couldn’t go further because I started to feel this way too.
It was a lovely movie but just like all movies, you begin to love the main character.
And the main character in this movie is LUCIFER (obviously as the name implies).
My curiousity got me into the door, it got me watching but my beliefs didn’t allow me go further.
This series explores the life of Lucifer the fallen angel.
Coming to think of it, Lucifer committed just one sin but the ever-forgiving God refused to forgive him and punished him for the whole of eternity… Why?
I mean Lucifer was the most beautiful angel according to the holy books.
Lucifer or Morningstar was a reflection of God’s wonders as the holy books recorded, “Lucifer was perfect in beauty”.
Lucifer glorified God but got proud & challenged God then God punished him for eternity.
This is the story the preacher told us.
So this movie forces you to ask one big question:
If God were such a merciful, forgiving & loving God why did he punish one of his favorite angels because of ONE mistake? Not just a little punishment but sent him to hell to burn there forever.
Well, this question doesn’t need answer because this is not a church letter this is a copywriting newsletter so what does this have to do with anything?
It is simple.
This series made millions and millions of dollars.
People spent so much money just to watch this movie.
And I have taught you that you need to pay attention to where people spend their money…
Ask yourself “WHY are people spending money here”
The moment you learn WHERE people spend their money and then WHY…
All you need to do is to collect your own share by making them spend their money with you.
Just like 10 years ago, people fell in love with phones and started buying all manner of phones. This lead to a place like Computer Village, Lagos being a big hub for mobile phones because traders so that people loved phones and more & more traders entered the business of selling phones.
The phone retail business is currently a multi-million dollar enterprise in Lagos and has made multiple millionaires… HOW?
Traders simply discovered where people were spending their money & they went to collect their own share by selling iPhones, Tecno etc.
If you want to make money in life always ask these 3 questions:
- WHERE are people currently spending their money?
- WHY are they spending their money here?
- HOW can I get them to spend their money with me?
In this case, the reason the movie Lucifer became such a success, won awards and made people spend so much money watching it is simple:
